Tiffany has AMAZING taste. I love the flowers she picked.

The day before Tiffany's wedding the maids gave her a book of memories and blessings for her marriage. I want to share a little of what I wrote to Tiffany.

I remember attending a Halloween party in 2005 with a boyfriend that I loved with all my heart, but I knew it was not a relationship that was glorifying God and shortly after this event I would have to break up with this person. Even though I knew it was the right thing to do, it wasn't easy. Tiff was unable to attend the event but called me and said she would have done anything in the world to attend with me. She just wanted to be there for me and that meant more than anything in this world. Tiff, I love you and wish you all the best in this new chapter of your life. Thank you for your friendship and example to me and so many others!

A Part of the Letter....

"Thank you for loving me and always being such an encouraging woman of God. You have been my rock through so many hard times. Thank you for praying for me over the phone, in person, out loud, and quietly to yourself at home. You have helped me become a better Christian and a stronger woman. I love being a Christian because I know I will spend eternity with people like you.

I love this quote; I’ve been waiting for this day to share it with you. It reminds me of you.

“A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart~and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” ~ author unknown

(I found this quote from another blog that inspires me. I hope and pray that each of you has a girlfriend in your life that you think of when you read this)

The Weekend of a Lifetime

The title of this post, "The Weekend of a Lifetime," is from Leslie and it's so true. We had the BEST weekend! Every minute was so much fun and unforgettable. I was sad when it was over. This post is about the events leading up to the wedding. The wedding itself deserves it's own post! Tiffany had a special day planned for the bridesmaids, the "Pink Lady Pamper Party." She gave us all pink tee shirts with "The Pink Ladies" written on it in rhinestones. She did a fabulous job at making us feel like princesses!

We started the day off with eyebrow makeovers at the Dallas Galleria.

Next we got manicures and pedicures.

Tiffany's grandmother passed away last fall. Right before she passed away, she hand painted these beautiful glass boxes for Tiffany's bridesmaids. At the time, Tiffany wasn't engaged. Her grandmother knew...

The Chapman Family

I wasn't going to post again until after the wedding this weekend. However, I have to write about this. Many of you know of Steven Curtis Chapman. He is a wonderful Christian song writer and singer. My heart is so heavy and saddened by this... his youngest daughter, Maria, who was adopted from China, was killed in a tragic accident. You can read more about it here.
Steven's manager wrote this on a blog, " And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this and because of Jesus I am certain through faith in Him we will see Maria again."
I'm so thankful that I'm a Christian and I know that when this life is over, I will see my family and friends again someday in heaven. I'm also thankful that "the best is yet to come when you're a Christian." Quoted from my fabulous preacher, Ronnie Norman, in January 2002. (I still have the program from that Sunday)
Please remember the Chapman Family in your prayers.

Cookie Decorating Attempt

Last week I tried to make the beautiful cookies that Lori makes. Lori has shared some of her decorating tricks and techniques on her blog. My cookies aren't that pretty but they did taste good. The polka dots are much harder to create than they look. I think it's going to take some practice!

New Finds

As I mentioned in another post, I have been shopping a lot lately. I've been helping my friend, Maria, purchase things for her new home. Of course, when I'm shopping for someone else I always find things I can't live without.

I LOVE these shoes. The picture doesn't really do them justice. They are so girly. My mom and sister also bought a pair.

I got this cute Kate Spade purse at the new outlet mall in Houston. It wasn't a great deal but it was good deal.

Maria and I found this adorable cake stand at Home Goods. It's SOOO cute and girly. I love it.

Enough shopping for a while! This weekend I'm heading to Dallas for Tiffany's wedding. I'm so excited; it's going to be so much fun. Friday Tiffany is having a "Pink Pampering Party" for the bridesmaids. I'll be posting pictures and details next week.
P.S. Be sure to check back for pictures of Tiffany's bridemaid's dresses. They are SOOOO cute!

Maria's New House

My friend, Maria, and her family just bought a new home. She ask if I would help her shop and decorate. Of course I will help, shopping and decorating are two of my favorite things. We "worked" really hard for two days. One day we started at noon and didn't finish until midnight! It was so much fun; I wish I could do this everyday! I'm so happy for Maria. She has been dreaming of this home for a long time. Congratulations, Maria!

Happy Mother's Day

I’m one of the luckiest girls in the world. I have the BEST mom. I could not survive without her. My mom can do anything and everything. For example, we’ve been at restaurants and loved a dish we ordered. My mom will say, “I can make this at home,” and she does! My mom can sew anything. She has made me some of the best items in my wardrobe. If I can do half the things she does someday, I’ll be doing well.

My mom has always been my biggest cheerleader. My dreams are her dreams. My passions are her passions. I’ll never forget my last night in Beijing. I had just spent seven days with the greatest kids in the world. I had no idea my time in the orphanage would affect me the way it did. I emailed my mom from Beijing and said, “Tonight is my last night in China but I’m not done with China. I hope you want a Chinese grandchild someday because someday I’ll be back to adopt my daughter.” Instantly, my mom loved and prayed for a child she had never met and probably won’t meet for years to come.

For Mother’s Day this year I made a donation to the Half the Sky "Nanny Program" in her honor. Thank you mom for praying for me and loving me like nobody else ever could.
