Love.This.Show. and A Question

The Celebrity Apprentice (TCA) is SOOO funny. I look forward to watching it every Sunday night. I'm a little bummed about Melissa and Joan Rivers. I hope Joan returns next week. She definitely has the most star power.

If you're not familiar with TCA, the celebs are playing for cash prizes which will be donated to their favorite charity. Tonight the project manager from the winning team received $20,000 for charity.

I really didn't have a charity that I was passionate about until 2006. I had, and still have, many charities I care about and believe in but none that I was truly passionate about. You know... the kind of passion that you could talk about all day, the kind of passion that gets you fired up. If I had won the $20,000 tonight, I would donate it to New Day Foster Home.

What charity would you donate $20,000 to? Remember you can't keep it. ;) I love learning what people are passionate about.

  1. I've watched the show a few times, but not religiously. The 20,000 thing is cool! I think I would give mine to Crisis Pregnancy Centers. I volunteered at one in college, and it was incredible to see what a difference it made!

  2. I actually watched TCA tonight for the first time all season. I usually watch, though I just keep forgetting about it this time!

I'd likely donate mine to either World Vision, where I sponsor my two Albanians, or Room to Read, which is an org that builds schools and libraries in developing nations. They recently opened a chapter here in DC and I am really excited to begin volunteering with them!

  3. I would donate all the money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I adore that place and the work that they do.

    Great question! :)

  4. Last night's episode was really good. I wanted Annie to go home. She is evil and I do not trust Brandy. I thought Melissa whined but I felt sorry for her situation. Three's are NOT good...no matter what age you are!!
I am so ready to see what happens...from the previews I don't think Joan is coming back. If she does than I am sure it will be dramatic!! Enjoy:)
Oh...my $$ would go to St. Jude's Childrens hospital without question!!

  5. I would split mine. Half to Crisis Pregnancy Centers, and half to St Judes.

  6. oooo! tough question! I'd like to break it up - if that's an option? 1/3 to the National MS Society, 1/3 to the Penn State Dance Marathon (funding pediatric cancer patients), and 1/3 to No Greater Sacrifice, funding the educations of children who lost their parents to combat. i just couldn't choose!

  7. I love charity work too! I do the local children's hospital and the ballet. Any charity that supports feeding people/keeping them healthy or helping children. But I know there are so many more out there that are deserved of help.

  8. Ooh - I couldn't believe the drama when Melissa went home! That Annie and Brandy are CRAZY! I hope Joan comes back next week...and I'd give my money to CMN or St. Jude's! Have a great day!

  9. Mercy Ministries helps young girls who have struggles to overcome in life like drug or alcohol addictions, they offer council for adoption and try to provide resources/homes for pregnant girls who have nowhere else to turn. I also would give to Shaohannah's Hope which is Steven Curtis Chapman's organization to provide financial support to families willing to adopt. They granted me with $3,000 in my adoption journey and I'm so thankful!!

  10. I love, love CA. I have changed my opinion of Joan so much since the show started. I was hoping she would be the first to go, then after one episode I realized that I had just not seen enough of Joan to make that decision. I like her. Hope she comes back. I can't believe Melissa went so bezerk! She knew it was gonna happen. Now I live to see Annie GO! Can't take that girl. Charity would have to be St. Judes!

  11. My husband and I donate to Medical Missions. Last year we got together and asked all the medical reps to donate extra surgical supplies and we sent them to Samaritan's Purse www.samaritanspurse.org for medical teams (volunteer RN's and Doc's) who go to 3rd world countries. I can't seem to give enough and would love the opportunity to give $20,000 more this year. That's what I would do.....

  12. Hey girl,

I would donate to the Tourette Syndrome Association (I have a family history of it). The TSA has done so much and their website has AMAZING resources and information for so many people.

  13. I love it that you would donate it to the New Day Foster Home! They are definitely deserving of $20,000!

  14. That is such a tough question so I'd give $5k to each of the following -
    Half the Sky
    New Day (inspired by you!)
    Main Line Animal Rescue
St Judes or another organization that helps children in need.

I think it's time to do another raffle and donate the proceeds to a charity. Any ideas?

  15. It's tough to settle on just one cause to get all the money. I think I would decide on Friendship Bridge, or another microcredit organization.

  16. I am getting behind on this show and need to catch up even though I know who has been voted off.

Great question about charity donation. I would have to split it in half and give the 1st $10K to the Young Survival Coalition that helps young women that are diagnosed with breast cancer and the 2nd $10K to PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society).

  17. I would split the money between animal rescue groups (my passion that I could talk about all day...animals!), MS Society (my mom has MS) and to cancer research (my daddy has colon cancer).

  18. Awe, what a great charity. I am determined to be a foster-momma! Other charities I am interested in are the American Cancer Society and the Kidney Foundation. What a great post! Xoxo-BLC

  20. I haven't ever watched it - I've heard it's good. I'm not sure which charity I would choose - something dealing with children - or moms. Thanks for the b'da wishes!
