Pottery Painting

Saturday night my girlfriends and I painted pottery and went out for a fun dinner. I absoultely LOVE painting pottery! Lindsay, Stephanie, and I painted a mini chip and dip and Jana painted a coaster set. If you’re not familiar with the pottery painting shops, you leave your pottery at the shop for a few days. The staff bakes it in the kiln. I’ll take photos of our final products when I pick up!

Stephanie painted a Texas Longhorns Chip and Dip

Lindsay painted a "Bobby Jindal 2012" Chip and Dip...
without a doubt, this is the funniest Chip and Dip I've ever seen.

Lindsay inspried me; I painted a pink GOP Chip and Dip.

Jana's coaster set.

Nastiness and A Funny Story

Nastiness...

Last night I went to my friend, Maria’s house. Our plan was to exercise and possibly cook something healthy from the Hungry Girl Cookbook. Maria called to find out what time I was heading to her house. Here’s our conversation…

Me: I have to take a shower and then I’ll head to your house.
Maria: But aren’t we going on a walk/run?
Me: Yes.
Maria: And you’re going to shower before we exercise?
Me: Uh-huh.
Silence
Me: Okay, it’s Friday and I haven’t had a shower since Wednesday.
Maria: Ohhhh

Normally, I’m not nasty. I had a shower on Wednesday night. I should’ve showered on Thursday night but I got home from the L.A. trip and fell asleep. Friday I worked from home. Working from home is great and I wouldn’t change it for the world. However, I do crazy things. For example, not taking a shower until the afternoon and staying in PJ’s all day. So, my question to all my girly girl blog friends… Do y’all do anything nasty? Don’t be shy.

A Funny Story...

Yesterday Maria had a crazy morning. She was trying to get her 6 year old to school on time and get the trash out. Her son needed something in the garage before they headed to school, so Maria opened the garage door for him. The handle of the trash can attached to the handle of the garage door. As the garage door was opening, it pulled the trash can up with it. The door started jamming and making crazy noises. Maria ran to her car to get the garage door opener; she tried to stop it but it was too late. The garage door completely came off the track and the wheels were bent. As you can tell from the pictures we thought it was pretty funny. Maria’s husband didn’t agree. He came home from work and all the girls watched through the window as he tried to fix it (he did fix it~ it took about 4 hours). Maria told the girls it’s not her fault; it’s his fault. Taking out the trash is his job and he “forgot.” He He!

P.S. My brother just called me and ask me how to make a baked potato. Cute!

Hi Girls! I have a new computer and it doesn't have any dirty viruses! I'm happy. However, I pulled a Carrie Bradshaw and didn't back up all my files. Most of the files I lost were work related and I don't care. Is that bad? However, I didn't back up my ipod and I'm super sad. Question, did I lose all my music? It's still on my ipod??? Boo!

Monograms and Manicures is hosting a PINK swap! Ahh... a swap straight from my heart. I love, love, love pink! Sunday is the last day to sign up, so head over to her blog if you're interested.

I received a couple of blog awards. Thank you to Miss JC at Where the Green Grass Grows for the Lemonade Award.

Thank you Pearls and Bows for this award.

Thank you A Pretty Peony for The Fabulous Blogger Award. Check out these super cute blogs!

If you love our Gossip Girl Blair and her headbands, check out this cute Etsy store. I just purchased this headband in black.

P.S. Room service is overpriced and not that delicious.

Greetings from L.A.

Hi Y'all! I'm in L.A. and my computer has a terrible virus with lots of bad words, including the word "fetish." It's just plain dirty. Anyone that knows me, knows I don't say words like "fetish". In fact, I think today is the first time I've ever said the word "fetish" out loud. The worst part is my computer belongs to my company. I had to call them today and explain all this. It was horrifying! AND the computer crashed! Cry, cry.

Right now, I'm at Danielle's house, using her computer. Tonight Danielle's mom made us a great dinner and check out this fabulous dessert tray. We just watched Gossip Girl, love that show!

For those of you who wonder what Danielle looks like while she's creating your super cute blog designs, here she is with Oliver.... As I'm writing this post D is watching One Tree Hill and shhh-ing me. I'm not loving One Tree Hill, too much violence. I disapprove, Danielle. ;)

Sunday Danielle, Jessica, and I met Kate at the L.A. flea market. There were some really cute finds. We had brunch at a cute local restaurant. We spotted Al*yson Han*nigan. Remember the "one time at band camp" girl? AH was also in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and How I Met Your Mother.

Danielle found this super cute picture for her room.

I found a cute airplane necklace. I figure I spend enough time in the sky...so I might as well.

Jess found a vintage Beatles Album.

And of course, Kate found a vintage nautical book. Love it.

I'm hoping to have a new laptop by Wednesday afternoon. I'll be back to visit your fabulous blogs soon!

I’m still having problems connecting to the internet via my Sprint broadband card at home. This afternoon I went to a Starbucks about 8 miles from my house and the Sprint card worked. Frustrating! Am I the only person who doesn’t like Starbucks? The only Starbucks drink I can handle is the Passion Fruit Unsweetened Iced Tea. I don’t get it?? Anyway…

I’m heading to Los Angeles this week for work. I decided to fly in a day early to visit Kate and Danielle. I’m sure they have some fabulous things planned for us! I’ll keep y’all posted. As I was packing today, I started thinking about a legendary story, “Kristine and the Chi Iron.”

In 2005, Jenn (sister), Kristine (friend), and I met in San Diego for a Girl’s Weekend. It was great fun… the zoo, the beach, a winery, Sea World, shopping, eating, laughing, etc… However, the trip didn’t start off a positive note for Kristine. When we checked into our hotel, Kristine noticed her suitcase had been “searched” by TSA. Everything she had neatly packed was messy and her new makeup was cracked and destroyed~ devastating for a girl. As we were getting ready for dinner, my sis asked Kristine if she could borrow her Chi Iron. Kristine went to get it from her messy suitcase and realized it was GONE. Okay~ y’all know how much a Chi Iron costs, right?

I'm always the shortest. This photo was taken before I got a digital camera. I really think I was the last American to purchase one.

Kristine was so upset. I called Americ*n Airl*nes for her and talked with them for 2 hours. Finally, they agreed to reimburse Kristine for the cost of the Chi Iron. For the last 3 years, my sis and I have been telling this story to the world. Jenn travels for work as much as I do and we both carry our Chi Irons in our laptop bags. It’s kind of a pain but there’s no way we are going to check a Chi!

Well, Kristine visited Jenn a couple of months ago and gave her a Chi update. When Kristine arrived home from our San Diego trip she submitted her receipt to Americ*n Airl*nes. They paid her back and she was happy, happy! About one year later, Kristine was taking a trip. As she was packing her suitcase she found the stolen Chi in the side pocket of her suitcase!!! TSA had moved it during their messy search. Jenn and I laughed so hard. I still feel a little weird about checking my Chi but I’m working on it.
