GPS

This afternoon I broke down and bought a Garmin. I’ve been traveling the United States for over 10 years. I’ve used Map Quest and Google Maps; they don’t always work. Last week I had a breaking point in Louisiana…DONE! I bought a GPS. I’m planning on trying it this week. I hope it’s easy because I have no time for complication!

Question~ Why are most (not all) girls SO bad with directions? If one more girl tells me to turn right at the McDonalds and left at the Shell Station, I might freak out. Street names, please! I can't tell you how many girls have told me they've called their boyfriends, husbands, and dads because they were lost. No wonder! Sorry, just being honest.

I don't know how I lived without my Garmin trying to navigate my way through my own city. For as much as you travel, you will love it! It just saved me on my recent FL trip.

I don't know why, but it does seem like a lot of women are directionally challenged. Luckily for me I seem to do pretty well with directions, I just always end up saying the opposite of what I mean though! At least my hubby knows that now. He is the worst with directions. We can go a place a 100 times and he still asks me how to get there! I love street names and cardinal directions (north, south, east, west). You can't go wrong with those!

I think it is a New England thing, but I always give directions with landmarks, rather than street names! I say go left at Dunkin Donuts and right when you see the big church... :)

You and your GPS will become buddies real quick. You need to name it too. I agree about directions however my bf is not much better in that department! Actually worse than I am. LOL

haha! so true - i can navigate anywhere myself - but once i have to share the directions with someone else... forget it. you might as well stuff me in the passenger seat & take me along until you get where you're going...

To be honest, I'm a guy and I never use street names for directions. I barely know 5 street names in the town I live :')

I hope this works out for you! I'm decent with directions as long as they don't involved N, S, E and W! I bought a compass just for this reason. And I hate it when people give me landmark directions instead of street names. And they probably hate when I say I need rights and lefts and not easts and wests. haha!

I often wonder this same thing. I am TERRIBLE with directions. And I always have to call my hubby or my Daddy.
